Let’s be honest: Peel has a lot of cats. In windows. On harbour walls. On sun-warmed steps. Watching. Always watching.

Peel Kitty City is a new idea celebrating Peel as the Island’s cat capital with a large, very visible cat population, and a long tradition of coexisting with them. Our cats aren’t attractions. They’re locals. We’re just the visitors!
We’re exploring a few ideas, including:
Kittizenship
A small “kittizenship kit” for people whose cats are official Peel residents, complete with passport and stamps. And “honorary kittizenship” for visitors to buy for their cats who aren’t from Peel but want to be part of our extended feline family!
Interactive cat map
A privacy-conscious map showing streets and roads our cats often frequent so people know who they're meeting.
Window signs for locals
Simple signs you can pop in your window to introduce your cat.
Local partnerships
Potential collaborations with Manx pet-related organisations, keeping everything local and cat-approved.
This isn’t about turning Peel into a theme park. It’s about celebrating what’s already here: a beautiful seaside town with an unusually high number of cats.
If you’ve been judged by one, you’ve already been welcomed.
